“Symphony Of Light” The debut album
With his atmospheric crossover of pop and classical music, The Dark Tenor last year for a dark-romantic autumn – at the same time as his first German tour, the celebrated debut album of the nameless tenor is now being released, expanded with seven new songs and an additional classical compilation (Deutsche Grammophon) as a 34-track “Second Edition” in new artwork.
Tradition and modernity, light and shadow, pure energy and unbridled passion - only a few other artists in the German pop scene captivate audiences with their songs like The Dark Tenor. With his first album " Symphony Of Light " the exceptional German-American singer enchanted a steadily growing audience from the end of 2014 and immediately entered the crossover charts at a sensational 1st place and the top 20 of the longplay charts. With the lavish "Second Edition" The Dark Tenor would like to thank all loyal fans for their support and provide another insight into his mysterious realm.
On “Symphony Of Light”, the trained opera singer combines the best of the world of classical music with opulent pop moments to create an atmospheric, mystical, fascinating and so far absolutely unique mix: Immortal original melodies by world-famous composers such as
Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Mozart or
Camille Saint-Saëns combine with self-written pop elements to create a symphony of light that is as modern as it is timeless. The Dark Tenor knows how to combine strong contrasts on “Symphony Of Light” in an inimitable way. Bombastic and moving, as well as powerful and fragile - as contradictory as The Dark Tenor presents itself: The face hidden behind a semi-transparent fencing mask and a heavy hood, accompanied by massive silver jewelry and colorful tattoos. The Dark Tenor moves elegantly between the spheres: that of light and the fascination for the dark side. An extraordinary mixture with which The Dark Tenor inspires both the mainstream and the alternative scene in equal measure.
With the “Second Edition” of his debut album, The Dark Tenor is guaranteeing a pleasant winter in 2015: On two CDs, you will find the standard version of “Symphony Of Light” supplemented by seven brand new and previously unreleased tracks. What’s special: In addition to two songs with the special guests Benjamin Richter and Fishing zoom The album will be opened with “ Maria durch ein Dornwald ging ”, “ Pie Jesu Libera Me ”, “ Silent Night ” and the Frankie Goes To Hollywood -Remake of “ The Power Of Love ” is expanded by four atmospheric Christmas songs in the typical The Dark Tenor style. The second CD contains all the classic original compositions that The Dark Tenor has used in his songs: Starting with popular motifs from Mozart's “ Magic Flute ”, about Tchaikovsky's “ Swan Lake ”, to Smetana's “ The Moldau ” and Verdi’s “ Requiem ” – the “Classical Masterpieces” CD offers all The Dark Tenor fans who have not yet come into contact with classical music a great introduction to an exciting world of sound!
At the same time as the release of “Symphony Of Light (Second Edition)”, The Dark Tenor will be touring German venues for the first time. The singer will be supported by a band and a polyphonic choir during his elaborate shows.
