The Dark Tenor has dedicated his "Icons" trilogy to the immortal three - namely Ludwig van Beethoven, Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. These three important composers not only shaped classical music, but also laid the foundation for what we understand today as contemporary music. With the three-part "Icons" series, the Berlin-based singer, composer and producer continues what he began in 2014 on his gold-certified debut album "Symphony Of Light". After more than 230,000 units sold of his three top 10 albums and two top 20 releases, completely sold-out tours throughout Germany and TV appearances on “Carmen Nebel laden ein”, the “ZDF Fernsehgarten”, “Silvester am Brandenburger Tor” or the boxing mega-event “Tyson vs. Klitschko” in front of over 40 million viewers worldwide, The Dark Tenor dedicates his new EP to one of his most important influences: Johann Sebastian Bach.

At a young age, Billy Andrews came into contact with the work of JS Bach (31.03.1685 – 28.07.1750) during his classical music training in the renowned Dresden Kreuzchor; a fateful encounter that still resonates with him today. The "Johann - A JS Bach Story By Billy Andrews" EP contains eleven pieces that were inspired by the enormous influence of the Thuringian multi-instrumentalist. The Dark Tenor kicks off with the lead single "When You Roar", which oscillates between bombastically produced classical arrangements and driving rock riffs, on which the singer and musician is supported by the powerful, dynamic playing of the Berlin piano duo Queenz Of Piano. The tenor takes fans into his dark, romantic Classic Noir world with the soundtrack-like "Complete". In the opulent classical pop ballad “Ultraviolet Hearts”, The Dark Tenor pays homage to Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue”, probably the world’s most famous work of the Baroque pioneer, thus seamlessly bringing the epic moments of his first albums into the modern era.
The central core of the "Johann - A JS Bach Story By Billy Andrews" EP is the three newly recorded, independent Bach pieces "The Well-Tempered Clavier: Book 1, BWV 846-869: Prelude In C Major BWV 846", "Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major, BWV 1068: 2. Air" and "Toccata And Fugue In D Minor, BWV 565: Toccata", which were virtuosically transformed by The Dark Tenor into his very own sound aesthetic with great attention to detail true to the original. With these pure classical recordings, the musician continues his mission to make classical music accessible to everyone and to inspire younger audiences in particular with the magic of the old masters. The song collection is rounded off by acoustic versions reduced to the essentials and touching instrumental versions of the brand new studio tracks “When You Roar”, “Complete” and “Ultraviolet Hearts”. The Dark Tenor meets JS Bach – an exciting story told by Billy Andrews.
